The cold, clean waters off of Alaska, throughout the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and the Gulf of Alaska, support huge stocks of multi-species groundfish, many of which are in high demand worldwide. The term "groundfish" refers to several species of white-fleshed fish that live on or near the bottom of the ocean.
