We support the North Pacific Fishery Management Council’s efforts to address economic discards. Working with the NPFMC, our team developed an innovative program,known as Amendment 79, designed to curb waste by increasing retention and utilization standards within the non-pollock multi-species groundfish sector in the BSAI. The program will gradually increase the retention standard required of every non-AFA trawl catcher processor to 85 percent.
